There were also lots of bridges - this one to collect drinking water from via a bucket on a rope

 

And quite a few very, very cool suspension bridges like this one - completely impossible to resist swaying wildly on whilst in the middle, as there were no moms / wives around to stop us :-)

 

And some very big wooden bridges, built out of Australian hardwood in the 1920s to carry a little train track for bringing out the logs

 

And finally it was back to the beach, which sure looked like paradise

 

But we know better, right?

 

a dead seal washed up on the southern shore, not so heavenly for some

Lots of driftwood - the beech trees are quite shallow rooted, so they get blown over easily. At the time we passed this one, the sea had ressurected it, momentarily...
